If you are not eligible for a fat transfer butt augmentation, you may be a good candidate for a butt implant procedure. Gluteal implants are an excellent option for patients who are thin or do not wish to harvest fat from donor sites on their body. In some cases, this can be combined with other procedures, such as a body lift to help patients achieve an aesthetically agreeable proportion. The procedure for butt implants is similar to that of the breasts; there are various techniques that can be used to achieve the best results for your unique body structure and goals. This 31 year-old woman from the McAllen, Texas area presented to my cosmetic surgery clinic requesting butt augmentation. She is 5’2” tall and weighed 119 pounds. The patient understood she was not a good candidate for liposuction and fat transfer because of her lean body. We discussed intramuscular silicone gluteal implants with additional redo VASER liposuction to her flanks to enhance her gluteal contour. I placed 379ml round AART silicone butt implants within the gluteus maximus muscle. She had minimal pain post-operatively and followed her post-op instructions. She healed very well and her results are shown at 4 months. The intra-gluteal incision is fully concealed, and she loves her cosmetic surgery results.

This 33 year-old woman from the McAllen, Texas area presented to my plastic surgery clinic requesting gluteal implants. She is 5’0” tall and weighed 83 pounds. The patient understood she was not a candidate for liposuction and fat transfer because of her slender body. We discussed intramuscular silicone butt implants with additional liposuction to her flanks to enhance her gluteal contour. I initially placed 300ml round AART silicone butt implants, which were the largest implants she could accommodate. The patient healed well and was very happy (Stage 1 – Shown). She returned 6 months later and requested larger implants. Her tissues had been stretched and we were able to place larger 375ml implants. The incision is fully concealed, and she is extremely happy with her cosmetic surgery results.
