Complex Labiaplasty (labia minora and labia majora reduction)

This 36 year-old female from the McAllen, Texas area presented to our cosmetic surgery clinic requesting reduction of her labia minora and labia majora. Her asymmetrical and hypertrophic labia minora were causing her discomfort and impeding her sexual intimacy. In addition, she was very self-conscious of the appearance of her redundant labia majora. Examination revealed asymmetrical redundant labia minora extending up to her clitoral hood and redundant labia majora. We performed a complex labiaplasty with reduction of both her labia majora and labia minora. For the labia minora reduction using an advanced wedge excision technique to preserve her natural clitoral hood and create a natural labia minora edge. The suture lines for both reductions were combined and concealed. Her results are shown at 3 months and she is extremely happy with her cosmetic gynecologic surgery results!

CASE 726: Complex Labiaplasty (Labia Minora Reduction) with Clitoral Hood Reduction
This young lady presented to our cosmetic surgery clinic requesting labiaplasty. Examination revealed redundant labia minora with excess clitoral hood. A complex labiaplasty was performed to reduce the labia minora with concomitant clitoral hood reduction. It is critical in these cases to preserve adequate tissue coverage for the clitoris in order to avoid postoperative complications. Labiaplasty alone without clitoral hood reduction in such cases results in a worsening of the imbalance and a poor cosmetic result with residual clitoral hood excess. Such cases illustrate the subtle complexities inherent with labiaplasty procedures. Her results are shown at 2 months post-op and she loves her new look after her cosmetic surgery.
