BRACHIOPLASTY
If you have developed excess fat or sagging skin in the arms, you may want to consider a brachioplasty at RGV Cosmetic Surgery & Vein Center. We offer this and other cosmetic treatments to women and men living in McAllen, Brownsville, the Rio Grande Valley, and all of South Texas.
What Is A Brachioplasty?
A brachioplasty, also called an arm lift, is a surgical procedure designed to eliminate excess fat and skin on the arms. This procedure allows patients to achieve improved contour in the arms, contributing to a leaner appearance. Patients typically choose to have an arm lift to address fat and sagging skin that develops underneath the upper arms – especially after weight loss.

How Is A Brachioplasty Performed?
Patients with good skin tone and mild to moderate excess fat may be able to achieve wonderful results with VASERLipo® with or without BodyTite™. However, patients with significant excess skin – especially after massive weight loss – require traditional brachioplasty for a meaningful result. This operation involves a linear scar, hidden in the bicipital groove of the upper arm, that extends across the armpit. Through this incision, excess skin and fat are removed. Dr. Rodriguez usually performs VASERLipo® as part of the arm lift procedure, and the operation usually lasts three to four hours (depending on the amount of excess skin and fat).

What Results Can I Expect From A Brachioplasty?
After your brachioplasty, results will be visible immediately. You will typically experience swelling or bruising for up to two weeks after surgery, but the full results of your surgery will be visible afterwards. The results from a brachioplasty can be permanent.
What Is Recovery Like Following A Brachioplasty?
After your brachioplasty, we recommend taking up to a week off of work. You will be able to perform light activities such as bathing and eating, but you will not be able to drive or perform more demanding tasks for a few days. Light exercise can be resumed approximately three weeks after treatment. After six weeks, you should be fully recovered and able to resume all normal activities. During your consultation, Dr. Rodriguez will explain what you can expect after your treatment along with any specific instructions to be followed.
How Much Does A Brachioplasty Cost?
To determine the cost of your brachioplasty, we invite you to schedule a private consultation with Dr. Rodriguez. During your consultation, we will assess your cosmetic goals in order to pursue a treatment plan that matches your unique needs. Then, we will be able to provide you with a clear breakdown of the costs associated with your treatment. At RGV Cosmetic Surgery & Vein Center, we accept a number of payment and financing options, including cash, checks, money orders, major credit cards, and CareCredit® financing. We also offer simple and secure online payment optionsfor the convenience of our patients.
