Breast Revision in McAllen, TX

BREAST REVISION

Breast augmentations are some of the most frequently performed cosmetic surgeries. Unfortunately, this means that there is a lot of room for patient dissatisfaction. RGV Cosmetic Surgery & Vein Center offers breast revision surgery for patients who have experienced complications or poor results from previous breast surgeries. We welcome patients from McAllen, Brownsville, the Rio Grande Valley, and all of South Texas.

What Is A Breast Revision?

A breast revision is a surgical procedure designed to correct the results of poorly performed breast augmentations. Patients may consider a breast revision if they experience dissatisfaction, rippling or sagging implants, complications, capsular contracture, drooping breasts, or many other reasons. Although these issues can be corrected, revision procedures are typically much more complicated than first-time breast augmentations. In severe cases, patients may need multiple procedures to correct all problems.

How Can A Breast Revision Fix My Boobs?

Dr. Rodriguez of RGV Cosmetic Surgery & Vein Center specializes in complex breast revision techniques that allow him to correct a range of breast augmentation complications. For patients who do not require a breast lift, we use a technique that enables us to perform complex breast repairs with the existing scars from a patient’s prior surgery. This allows patients to avoid additional scarring on the breast. To do this, we use advanced medical products that help to ensure safety and efficacy.

What Materials Are Involved In A Breast Revision?

Breast revision is a tricky procedure because patients often need additional internal support to provide long-lasting results that match the patient’s aesthetic goals. For this, we incorporate VICRYL™, an absorbable woven mesh. This provides structural support for the surgical repair of symmastia (uniboob), implant displacement, and recreation of the inframammary fold. We also use Seri® Surgical Scaffold, an FDA-approved product that is bioresorbable, meaning it is naturally absorbed by the body over time. This product gives the body the support it needs while it heals, and provides long-term support. Seri® Surgical Scaffold is most often used to correct droopy breasts and rippling implants that occurred as a result of subglandular implants. With it, we are able to recreate the inframammary fold and provide support for new implants, which are placed in a subpectoral position. How Is Recovery From A Breast Revision?

During your consultation, we will review your treatment goals and explain what you can expect regarding results and recovery. We always strive to minimize scarring, and our advanced techniques allow us to produce significant results while making recovery as easy as possible.
