Where Are Butt Implants Placed?
Dr. Rodriguez is an expert in the modern surgical procedure for gluteal implants. Unlike breast implants, which are often placed under the pectoralis muscle, gluteal implants are placed within the thick gluteus maximus muscle. This provides excellent coverage for the implant, prevents the implant from sagging over time, and protects the sciatic nerve from injury. The intramuscular placement gives an extra layer of coverage, so the implant feels more natural to the touch and has a nicer shape. In addition, the additional tissue coverage protects the implant from infection.
What Is Recovery Like Following A Butt Implant Procedure?
Patients report surprisingly little pain after gluteal implant surgery, although bruising and swelling may persist for as long as three weeks after surgery. Patients should be prepared for two to four weeks of bed rest, although it is important to minimize sitting during this time, as it can have a negative impact on your results and recovery. Walking is encouraged in the weeks following surgery, as it can help promote normal blood flow. Light activities and work can be resumed approximately one to two weeks after treatment.
