What Is PRP Therapy?
PRP therapy, or platelet-rich plasma therapy, is a revolutionary treatment that uses your own growth factors and stem cells from the platelets in your blood to regenerate and revitalize collagen. How Are PRP Injections Performed?
The first step of PRP therapy is drawing blood from the patient. Then, the blood is placed in a centrifuge to obtain the concentrated platelet-rich plasma. Next, after applying a topical anesthetic for comfort, the PRP is injected into the skin. After this, treatment is complete. In addition to facial injections, PRP can also be applied topically to the skin through microneedling.
What Results Can I Expect From PRP Therapy?
For optimal results, we recommend three treatments performed four to six weeks apart. Visible results are notable three weeks after treatment and results will last approximately 18 months. There is little to no downtime, so you can resume normal activities immediately after treatment. Side effects can include bruising, redness, or mild swelling which should resolve within 24 hours.
