Similarly, ThermiVa® does not correct a fallen bladder or rectum (pelvic prolapse). Rectal prolapse or excessively wide and stretched vagina requires surgical vaginoplasty (posterior colporrhaphy).
How Does ThermiVa® Work?
Temperature controlled radiofrequency is used to smooth skin and shrink mucosa. The emission is computer controlled to regulate the targeted temperature during a timed dosage. The energy is delivered gently via a single-use, ergonomically designed wand. Heating of the skin and mucosa promotes three different kinds of effect:
- Immediate contraction of collagen
- Immediate collagen remodeling and elasticity
- Long-term stimulation of production of new collagen
Collagen is the most abundant insoluble fibrous protein in the human body made up of amino acids, and it is the substance that holds the body together and is vital for skin elasticity.
